 What is Blender?

Blender is a free software which is available for windows which can be used for doing modelling, 2d, 3d animation , texturing and so on.

And as it is free that's why most of the studios not prefer to use this software or we can say it has some less features as compare to other software, in the gaming field mostly studios avoid using blender because it is not having sufficient features for gaming industry, but some studios used blender in movie or animation industry.

How can we do 2d animation in blender?

So as you open the blender software in  the opening only it is asking you that which work you want to do according to that only he will open different different tabs, so you have to click on the 2d animation so it will open 2d animation tab for you.

for make your work easy it is really better to turn on one setting so you can switch the modes with shortcut, now what you have to do go to "edit>preferences>keymap>Tab for pie Menu"

Now after switch ON this option when you hold tab there are some modes coming the you switch to any mode just by drag you curser their.

Draw Mode :- To draw something it has, pencil eraser, paint bucket and many more.

Object mode :- to add something like image, etc.

Sculpt mode :- to modify what you done already it can be a line, circle, rectangle anything, you can easily modify them in this mode.

Edit mode :- This is for scale, move, rotate etc.

Weight paint :- it is kind of paint but you are not able to erase after painting using this mode.

Vertex paint :- let say you draw a circle and you want to color only its boundary then you can use this mode.

Now to add the image for reference if you want go to object mode>Add>Image>Reference

After adding the image you have to click on Stroke on top right corner so you again able to go to draw mode,

The bottom section is your timeline where you can adjust your timing and the keyframes

If you want to add the audio then you have to click on the clock which is bottom left then select video sequences then go to add then audio and drag the bottom timeline little up

when you drag the timeline up then you can see the audio file if you want when you drag the timeliner then also you can hear the audio then again select the clock(Timeline) in the video sequence tab then go to playback and check scrubbing.

Now let's start with the animation, first I go to draw mode the select rectangle shape and draw the rectangle and then i have to press Enter so i can go some other thing, so in the key frame 1 i draw rectangle then i have to move it.

then go to edit mode drag the timeliner to 4 or 5 frame select the rectangle then select the move tool and push it forward and do it again and again till not getting how much i want to move.

now what you noticed one reduced opacity rectangle also coming there, it is showing your last rectangle position so to remove that you have to turn off onion skinning which is marked in the red outline then click on play button then your rectangle starts moving.

if you want to change the color of your rectangle then you have to go to material

then in the fill select color what you want to fill, make sure you check on fill option

then go to draw mode select fill bucket and click on the rectangle for different colors you have to make different materials

if you want to give him zoom in, zoom out effect then you have to do the camera panning for that for this you have to click on the "+" near rendering then go to General > Layout

then select the camera and move tool and drag the timeline move the camera closer so keyframe set automatically then on the top bar go to 2Danimation and play, drag the timeline a little up so keyframes are visible
